This is a reading task about patterns in nature. The photos are patterns of Animals,Patterns,Plant Patterns and Patterns in the landscape. My reading group had to go on the Internet and find pictures of patterns. It was fun because I liked searching for cool photos for my reading task.

"Here We Go"

“Here We Go” By Reece

Its 3:45am. I was crammed into a rowing boat like sardines in a can. I was terrified. I was loading my gun up. All I heard was BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! I did not like it, not one little bit. It was very hard to see where I was. The only light that I could see was the moon.

I was nervous.  I didn’t want to die. My arms were shaking and I had butterflies in my tummy. Sweat was dripping down my neck like it was raining. All around me I heard soldiers screaming and dying.

From the start. I wanted to go to war because I thought it would be an awfully big adventure. But now I wish I never came to war because I am now about to die…….

Reflection

I am learning to write an interesting recount.

I am so proud of making my recount interesting by using similes and adjectives.

It can be tricky to find the best similes to use in this story.

Peace One Day

As part of  our Inquiry work on Peaceful Communities we have been  learning about World Peace Day  on September 21st. On Friday 19th September we held a Taster Shared Lunch with Rooms  19 and 22.   We  had to bring in a small sample of a food that we might eat at home as a family favourite  or a food from our culture.  This helps us to learn about each other’s cultures and about tolerance of others.

My Name in Japanese

This is my name Reece in Japanese. One day there were people visiting us from Japan. We were doing lots of fun activities with them. On one activity the Japanese students were writing your names in Japanese and this is what my name looked like.

Korean Visitors to Room 21

This is a photo of the Korean students with Room 21. The Korean students came all the way from Korea and they stayed with us for 4 weeks and a half then they went back to Korea.

My Speech

Baseball

I think baseball is a fun game because in the game you have lots of fun things to do and skills you can learn when playing the game.  Skills like chasing the ball, catching the ball or even hitting the ball with your bat.

The skill I like doing the most is hitting the ball with the bat because you can hit it a really long way. You can get a point for your Team if you hit it far. If you hit it really far the other team might not be able to  catch it unless they jump really high.

Playing baseball is not only fun but also helps to keep you healthy and fit.

Baseball is played in many countries around the World and watched by millions of people. Baseball is a very famous game. And the best team I like is the Yankees because I go to Baseball myself and my team is called the Yankees. In America there is a Baseball game on and I watched it on T.V the teams were the Yankees vs the Dodgers. I like to watch them play the game because to me the game is very interesting. The Yankees come from New York and they have won 26 games against the Dodgers.      

So playing Baseball not only keeps you healthy but is a good game to watch.  So maybe the next time it is on TV you can watch a game and see if you would like to give it a go.

Dice of Doom and Dice of Glory

 
   The Dice of Doom and the Dice of Glory is what we use for our Rewards and a Consequences. The red dice is the Dice of Doom and the number you roll will tell you your punishment. The Dice of Glory is the green dice. It is a reward and you have to earn it. What number you roll is your reward.

The Wreck of the Zanibar

This is my book that I am reading for S.S.R. My whole class is reading books that are written by  Michel Morpurgo. It will take us a whole year to finnish reading all the books in our Class Library . They are really interesting. I am looking forward to reading them all.
